How to Remove Stickers from Car
Whether on the windows, along the body, or stuck to the bumper, finding unwanted stickers on your car after stopping off in Farragut or Sevierville can be a real pain. Luckily enough, learning how to remove stickers from car windows, bodies, and bumpers is relatively easy. You simply need to gather the right materials and follow the handy guide put together by service experts here at Ole Ben Franklin Motors.
Getting Stickers Off a Car Body
The trick here is to get rid of the sticker without harming the paint. To do that, you’ll need:
- Car Wash Soap
- Hairdryer
- Plastic Card (such as an old membership card)
- Tree Sap Remover (or Goo Gone Automotive)
- Clean, Dry Towels
Now just follow these steps:
- Clean the sticker and surrounding area with soap.
- Set the hairdryer to hot. Working from the inside out, heat the entire area while keeping around 2 to 3 inches away from the sticker. It should take a few seconds.
- Use your plastic card to gently push under the edge of the sticker. You should be able to slowly peel it away, though you may need to repeat the process if it comes away in pieces.
Need to know how to remove sticker residue from the car after the sticker itself is gone? Use your cloth and apply some sap remover or Goo Gone Automotive, then use gentle pressure to wipe it away.
Getting Stickers Off a Car Window
Learning how to get stickers off car windows means collecting different supplies. You’ll need:
- Dish Soap and Hot Water
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Razor Blade
- Clean, Dry Towels
Now follow these steps:
- Peel up a bit of the sticker using the razor blade, then remove it by hand as well as you can.
- Apply dish soap and hot water with your clean towel and rub residue until it disappears.
- If soap and hot water doesn’t completely work, use the razor blade to carefully scrape residue away.
- If residue is left, substitute your soap and water for some rubbing alcohol, using the razor blade intermittently.
- Once you’re done, use a new towel to clean the area thoroughly.
